The 7th Twin Temple Festival Succeeds Despite Heavy Rain

KLATEN – The 7th Twin Temple Festival in Bugisan Village, Prambanan, Klaten, was held successfully despite being hit by heavy rain throughout the peak event. The enthusiasm of residents and guests did not wane; instead, it further strengthened the spirit of togetherness that lies at the heart of the festival.

The series of events, including interfaith dialogue, cultural performances, and the rebutan gunungan tradition, continued to run smoothly. The organizing committee said the rain was seen as a symbol of blessing and a cleansing of the spirit of harmony.

Head of the Twin Temple Festival Committee, Irvan Satria Priambodo, expressed appreciation to all parties who attended, stood alongside, and participated.

“The rain did not dampen the spirit of the people. This shows that the value of harmony in Klaten is deeply rooted. The success of this event is the result of mutual cooperation among all elements of society,” he said.

This year’s 7th Twin Temple Festival carried the message of harmony as capital for world peace. The values drawn from the history of Plaosan Temple will be brought to the International Harmony Week in Manado in October 2026.

The presence of religious leaders, local government officials, and people from various backgrounds affirms that Bugisan Prambanan continues to be a living hub of tolerance today.
